The week started off very quite with me and Baby-En just enjoying some time at home together
BUT, El and I finished Dark. It was a great show but both of us thought that they rushed the last season.
All 3 of us went to the Lønningspils which was organized by one of Els colleagues.
Baby-En enjoyed his first visit to a pub
He was the center of attention and of course wanted our food instead of his own. So he tasted some of our sweetpotato fries.
On the weekend we celebrated Baby-Ens 1st birthday
A lot of people came (including his friend - who was able to come after all) and the house of full of kids and parents
Good thing we booked a daycare spot for Krümel for that day
I can’t believe it’s already been a year. El and I are watching “old” pictures and videos of En and both of us are suprised who fast he has grown. He is close to walking 🤯
Anyway, this also means my last month of parental leave has started. There are days when I look forward to a normal working day, but most of the time I am just happy to see him grow up and enjoy every small piece of the world around him. I am going to miss those days…
It’s been a very quite week of me painting one me piece of furniture in Baby-En room and waiting for it to dry
El and me are deep into the TV Show Dark
We never watched a Show were we needed to stop so often to talk about what just happened and to loosen some knots in our heads before continuing
We were so close to finishing it this week but us being tired made us stop and move the last two episodes to today
Sunday we went on a nice walk in Estenstadmarka. We got some fresh snow in the last couple of days and the sun was shining, so it was beautiful to walk through the forest. We were also almost by ourselves.
Next week is Baby-En first birthday
Sadly his only friend is not able to join but we invited some friends and colleagues for coffee and cake and booked a place at the dog hotel for Krümel
Spend some time in the city with my dad and Baby-En before he left on Tuesday
We actually wanted to go to Sponhuset but it was closed due to winter vacation
Went to Espresso House in City Lade instead - Baby-En had a blast because the coffee shop is in the middle of the shopping mall and he can smile at sooo many people :)
Went to Carglass so they can fix the stone chip they missed last time
On Friday we went to the dog park after a long while. I think Krümel had fun. It’s sometimes hard to know because she doesn’t want to leave but also mostly watches the other dogs play.
Invited Pat and Dani for Lasange on Saturday, they have just been to Germany and brought us some nice vegan stuff … yummy.
Sunday was a quite day with lots of sun. We went for a nice family walk and enjoyed the rest of the day by doing mostly nothing
We finished the last James Bond movie on Sunday - Not going to do this any time soon again …
The week itself was quite uneventful
Went a couple of times in the city with En and my Dad to have some coffee
My dad wanted to buy a Norwegian woolen pullover - and he found one
He also help us a lot by chopping down the big branches which fell of the tree in the beginning of winter
My dad also invited us to dinner at Mat fra Hagen (food from the garden) in the city center which was lovely as always :)
Winter is still very cold but it looks like we are getting some fresh snow next week (finally)
We finished the second pallete of firewood - it’s really time to renew the heat pump in the living room. The current one just cannot keep up against the cold anymore.
January is already over. 2026 is rushing as fast as 2025 did. But I do plan to write a review of 2025 in the coming days.
We are almost done with watching all of the James Bond movies - I am quite sure we will finish them next week!
We bought a new electric heater for Baby-Ens room - and also attached it to the wall almost the same day - I am very proud for that :)
We only have to finish paiting the shelf, which El is currently doing, and re-attach the electric sockets
I had the local NITO (union) general assembly on friday where we elacted the new board, as one of the two board members is leaving the company
Bought iceskates for my dad and went skating today on the lake right infront of our house. The weather was lovely so we were not alone. My dad fell quite hard on our way back home, so let’s hope no major injuries. For now he it seems fine.
Made some vegan cinnamon buns today, which turned out quite good :P
